Educator Summit Invitation
Education as a basis for the future
1st international Educators’ Summit to be held in Milan on 12. and 13. April, 2011.
The Professional Lighting Designers' Association’s main aim lies in the establishment of the architectural lighting design profession.
Six steps have been identified for the recognition of the lighting design profession and a lighting design syllabus at university level is one of these steps.
The aim is not to create a common syllabus for every university to follow. Instead, we will discuss a ‘virtual’ syllabus that most can agree contains sufficient information necessary to become a lighting designer and could adequately represent the profession.
Each university would continue to have its own unique strengths, focus and direction. This unique event is by invitation only, and includes representatives from leading lighting associations around the world including IES, IALD, PLDA, APIL and others. Key educator delegates from Germany, Italy, Sweden, Norway, India, USA, United Kingdom, Spain, Mexico and many others have already confirmed their attendance!
