The second Professional Lighting Design Convention, PLDC will take place in Berlin from 29. – 31. October, 2009. PLDC is organised by VIA-Verlag, publisher of the Professional Lighting Design magazine and co-organised by the Professional Lighting Designers’ Association, PLDA.  PLDC is the largest global conference with an exclusive focus on lighting design. The organisers are reckoning with up to 1500 international participants.

The convention offers a three-day conference programme with around 70 presenters speaking in four parallel tracks on Lighting Application Case Studies, Research, Daylighting and sustainability, and Professional Practice Issues.

A special forum for clients and designers will provide a basis for project discussions.

PLDA international lighting conference in Sweden on the occasion of the PLDA practical workshop in Alingsås, Sweden on Friday
25. September, 2009 in the Palladium Theatre in Alingsås. The theme of this year's conference on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the lighting workshop in Alingsås is

“Inspiration in Alingsås – celebrating ten years”

Professional lighting designers who have participated in the lighting projects during the workshop week, together with key speakers from the specialist field of lighting, will be addressing issues of interest and importance to lighting designers, architects, town planners and landscape designers. Professional Lighting Designers' Association (PLDA), Notodden municipality, Telemark, Buskerud and Vestfold county councils, National and local partners in lighting and spatial planning invite you to an international lighting conference in Telemark, Norway on the occasion of the PLDA's  practical lighting workshop in Notodden 2009.

The theme of the conference is “Lighting design in the winter townscape.”

Winter lights in Telemark is an event with a local, regional and international perspective addressing the crossover between lighting design and creative urban planning. Lighting design can be an important tool to support urban life in a rugged winter climate. Attractive social and cultural meeting places in townscapes are essential to keep the town alive during the dark months of the year. At the same time attention must be paid to finding sustainable solutions.
