Why would I want to become a member of PLDA?

I am a member of PLDA because I am firmly convinced that together we can achieve official recognition of our profession I have been trying 30 years without success.

I am a member of PLDA because I feel I have something to offer a global network of Designers. Although the UK has an established community of Lighting Designers, we are unique in this position. There is a role for UK designers to play as part of the global big picture in helping to push our profession onward.

I am a member because of PLDA’s dedication and commitment to the unselfish sharing of information.

I am a member of PLDA to show my support for the programs it has to help our industry grow and to keep up to date on the work of the members.

I am a member of PLDA because it is the only way to be up to date of the state of the art of the lighting design profession (now it is) around the world.

I am a member of PLDA because it creates standards for the profession, at a time, when many people in love with light, as I am, walk this world. 

I am a member of PLDA because it gives me the opportunity to meet fellow designers and to improve my view in the field of my profession.

I am a member of PLDA because no other organization achieved more attention for one of the most important architectural topics - lighting design!

I am a member of PLDA because as a young Lighting Designer, to take part in this emerging true community of knowledge, I have no serious alternative.

I believe to be the best at your chosen profession and where you have to compete for work you must be able to be credible, creative and be on the cutting edge. Being the best you can be means having credentials as well as talent, being a professional member of the PLDA signifies the expertise and professionalism of the designer.

I am a member of PLDA because PLDA could help to become a lighting designer of excellence.

I am a member of PLDA because it connects!

I am a member of PLDA because this organization represents the future of professional Lighting Design on a global level. While our offices may be in one specific geographic region or country, our work does not recognize such limitations. Without borders the PLDA is able to effectively lead the way. Our diversity within the organization creates one, well spoken true voice.

I am a member of PLDA because a man cannot keep the same views all his life. Character is the real foundation of all worthwhile success; PLDA is very helpful for my work.

I am a member of PLDA because I'm worth it!
